The Christmas period can often be a busy time for moving house, as many people want to take advantage of the break from work to relocate.

However, there are several things that you need to take into account when planning a move during this time.

Firstly, it is important to note that solicitors usually close down for a couple of weeks around Christmas, so if you are looking to move in December, you will need to have all of your paperwork sorted out well in advance.

Additionally, surveyors and other professionals involved in the buying or selling process often take holiday at this time of year, which can cause delays.

Finally, banks and building societies may also be closed over the festive season, so it is important to factor all of this into your plans.
If you are looking to move in the next few months, it is advisable to have everything agreed by the end of September at the latest.

Entering the market in October may mean that you won't be able to move until after the New Year. With all this in mind, it is important to plan ahead and allow plenty of time if you are looking to move during the Christmas period.

So, to avoid any delays, make sure you get all your paperwork in order well in advance, and be prepared for a slightly longer process than usual.
With a bit of planning, you can ensure a smooth and stress-free move during the festive season.
