Why its recommended to have an inventory done on the rental property
Posted on 12th July 2022
This is because you have proof of what the property looks like and the condition of everything before the new tenants move in.
This way, if something is wrong when they come to move out, you can check the inventory to see if it was like that before they moved in or during their tenancy.
This is also beneficial if something is broken, as you can see who will be responsible for the cost.
This protects both the landlord and the tenant.
An inventory clerk will come to the property and carry out a check, recording its condition and any fixtures and fittings.
This will be taken in photographic and video evidence.
Having an inventory helps to ensure that both parties are aware of the condition of the property before tenancy begins, making for a smoother move-in and move-out process.
